Set off on an adventure between Saône-et-Loire and Nièvre in the Morvan massif, following the GTMC mountain bike route. Start by mountain bike and return by bus! Set off from Etang-sur-Arroux following the GTMC MTB signs. Among the hedgerows and valleys, admire the beautiful Autunois-Morvan countryside and its unusual and heritage treasures. Take a look at the Château de Champignolle just before you arrive at La Tagnière. You'll notice its remarkable garden and listed façade, but unfortunately this private property is not open to the public. A few kilometres further on, if you're brave enough, take a short break from the itinerary to discover a unique curiosity: the Pierre qui Croule. We dare you to make these 47 tonnes of granite 'crumble'! After this little excursion, it's not long to Toulon-sur-Arroux and lunch at the village restaurant "Le Méridien". The afternoon will be spent in the Nivernais region. Saddle up for Luzy. Warm up your calves before a gentle descent to Cuzy and its pond. The village is also home to the largest chestnut tree in Burgundy, measuring 11 metres in diameter - a truly unusual attraction! With a little more effort, Luzy gradually reveals itself and reveals the Tour des Barons, which now houses the municipal museum. Once you've arrived, don't miss the Aubusson tapestries, listed as Historic Monuments, hidden away in the town hall. The tapestries are on display during the opening hours of the town hall. Now it's time to leave the village of the future and take the coach back to Etang-sur-Arroux, to complete the circle. Take your time, though, as the last coach leaves at 8.15pm, allowing you to enjoy one last bite to eat before the end of the day (Coach timetable between Luzy and Etang-sur-Arroux on https://www.sncf-connect.com/).
