Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wines, is world famous for its Hospice wine sale in autumn. The treasure of the city is without context its Hôtel-Dieu.
Founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor of the Dukes of Burgundy, it is emblematic of the region's hospital heritage: a veritable palace for the poor, it is the most eloquent example of Burgundian Flemish art. Its polychrome roofs are famous.
The polyptych of the Last Judgement, commissioned from the painter Rogier van der Weyden, remains the jewel in the crown of the collections.
Visit with audio guide of the Hospices .
Visit of the cellars. We suggest you discover the Cellars of the Patriarch.
A former Ursuline convent, this place is full of history. You will discover a part of this labyrinth of more than 5kms of vaulted galleries dating back to the 13th century, housing millions of bottles.
A magical place, out of time ... summarizing the marriage of wine and culture.
Welcomed by a sommelier, you will discover these exceptional cellars before starting a tasting of 5 great appellations of our Burgundy vineyards: 2 whites Meursault and Montagny 1er cru, 3 reds: Mercurey 1er cru, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru and Beaune 1er cru.
Return to your hotel.

Day 2 Day dedicated to the great wines of Burgundy
After breakfast at the hotel, departure with your coach.
We organise for you an unforgettable experience in the heart of Burgundy's wine industry.
In an estate near Beaune, you will first be welcomed by a vineyard professional who will take you for a walk in the vineyards of his estate. He will explain the terroir and the climats of Burgundy, listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, the classification of wines as well as the work of the vine and the winegrower.
Your visit will continue in the cellars of the estate. The tasting will also be an opportunity to explain the harvest, fermentation, barrel ageing and bottling.
The winegrower sommelier will be able to answer any questions you may have!
You will then sit down for a tasting lunch at the estate's table d'hôtes.
This will be an opportunity to taste the food and wine pairings.
Example of menus subject to change:
Bavarois tomatoes, fresh goat's cheese, basil and its tapenade crouton
Leg of duck confit with vegetable wok
Selection of regional cheeses
Morello cherry clafoutis
The wines served are those of the Domaine and are presented by the sommelier during lunch.
You will return to our coach and discover the villages with names evocative of delicious beverages along the route des grands crus. Puligny Montrachet, Meursault, Pommard, Pernand-Vergelesses, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin...
You will visit the famous Clos de Vougeot castle.
This castle is today the emblem of the wine coast for all the visitors and wine lovers of the world; it is indeed in the middle of the vines that the monks of the Abbey of Citeaux built in the 12th century a vat house and a cellar.
You will then return to Beaune.
Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight stay
