  • Follow the tarmac road up to the junction on the plateau; turn left.
Just after the farmyard, turn left and start to descend until you reach the bottom of the valley of the Pont du Roi river. Cross it on the footbridge and follow the path; you soon come to a larger track where you turn right; on the plateau, at a large wooded area, turn right and continue along a path that takes you gently to an easily crossed ford.

Continue straight ahead, and after 120m turn left to tackle a thirty-metre or so steep incline that marks the start of a woodland path. At the end of the path, turn right onto a carriage road that you will follow for around 100 metres.
Turn left and you will soon come to the Chapelle de Repas.
Continue past the chapel to the tarmac road and turn left; at the fork in the road, turn left again into the Pierre Luzière state-owned forest. Follow the road for quite a long distance (around 1800 m).
At the last bend before the final straight, turn left onto a barely-marked path. At the end of the path, turn left, then right after about 30 metres; this path runs alongside the old Les Echards forest house to reach a gravelled carriageway. At the fork, fork left to follow the valley of the Charbonnière stream. At the low point on the path, start to climb (to the left) and leave the banks of the stream. On the flat area, fork right: you will find the route you took on the outward journey in the opposite direction.
