Circuit de randonnée : Tour du lac des Settons

The Tour du Lac des Settons is a must-do walk in the heart of the Morvan Regional Nature Park. Over a 15-kilometre route, accessible to hikers, mountain bikers and families, it immerses you in an unspoilt natural setting where water and forest meet in harmony. The well-maintained trail, which has no major difficulties, takes around four hours to complete, with plenty of viewpoints and rest areas to make the most of the scenery. As you walk along the banks of the lake, you pass through forests of fir and beech trees and can observe a variety of wildlife, including the herons and ducks that inhabit the calm waters of the lake. There are also a number of points of interest along the way, including the 19th-century dam that regulates the waters of the Morvan, the landscaped beaches ideal for a relaxing break, and the wooden footbridges offering superb panoramic views. For water sports enthusiasts, the lake is also ideal for paddling, kayaking and sailing, adding a playful touch to this natural getaway. Easy to get to, with several car parks nearby, this trail is accessible all year round, although it is particularly pleasant in spring and autumn. A good pair of walking shoes is recommended to get the most out of this hike, which appeals to both sports enthusiasts and walkers in search of tranquillity.
