This programme celebrates the family lineage and artistic complicity between Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, brother and sister at the heart of musical Romanticism. Felix's Variations concertantes for cello and piano open the evening with a virtuoso and intimate dialogue, before his famous Trio in D minor, a masterpiece in which brilliance, lyricism and energy are brilliantly combined.
In counterpoint, Fanny Mendelssohn's Adagio for violin and piano reveals a deeply sensitive style, testifying to her singular talent and the artistic bond between her and her brother. The programme closes with Felix's Trio in C minor, a work in which passion and expressive depth come to the fore.
