Today, Pauline is the sole owner of an institution whose reputation extends far beyond France. "We sell exceptional pieces with exceptional brands. Like car or watch collectors, some people don't hesitate to travel several hundred kilometres to acquire a specific weapon", explains the gunsmith. While some rifles and shotguns cost tens of thousands of euros, others cost just a few hundred.
James Armoury can also customise a gun to suit its user. In 2009, Pauline embarked on "something pretty crazy", namely the creation of a trilogy of weapons specifically adapted for women. "I thought of the weapon as an object rather than a utility," she explains. Named Cassiopeia, Amazonia and Calypso, in reference to the sky, earth and water, the three weapons are made from precious stones, cultured pearls and solid silver. Some of the techniques used, particularly when forging the barrel of Cassiopeia, make these weapons unique in the world. Designed as works of art, they are fully usable because they have been bench-tested. Today, this trilogy is the pride and joy of the town of Autun.
