A play that delves into the life of Molière to rediscover the exhilaration of theatre "hic et nunc".

In 1645, Molière's troupe left Paris to travel the roads of France with their modest trestles. In 2025, Johana Giacardi's troupe will leave Marseilles, the city where it is based, to beat the countryside with its small stage.

And to tell what? The life of Molière, from the wanderings of his early days to his apotheosis with the Sun King. But what amuses Johana Giacardi, who is not a historian, is drawing a host of more or less random (but always amusing) parallels between that era and our own - and, even more so, between the work of the Illustre-Théâtre and that of an ardent 21st century company. That's why the five performers on stage don't hesitate to take a few liberties with Poquelin's biography - or to expose the tricks of their theatrical trade. But it is in this production of the show in the present, with its on-the-spot set changes, myriad costumes and actors who give it their all, that this Saga of Molière comes closest to the essence of his genius...
