Notre-Dame de l'Aillant

Take the D2 north through the village. After 500 m, turn left at the cross for the hamlet of Joux. After 100 m, turn right at the second cross. You will come to the D2, cross it and take the tarmac road opposite. After 100m, turn left onto a small path that joins the D2 again, which you cross again to take the path that climbs towards Notre Dame de l'Aillant. After 700m of climbing, there is a path on the left which, after 50m, takes you to the statue of the Virgin and the viewpoint (admire it...). Retrace your steps and turn left to join the yellow markings. The path climbs up to the forest road, where you turn left. Be careful, go 20 m and turn left before the ONF barrier. Descend through the forest for 1km, then walk 50m along the section shared with the GR 13 and turn right. Follow the path for 100m and ford a stream. Be careful, continue for another 100m and turn right at the entrance to a meadow. After 200 m, turn left, ford another stream and continue along the path for 850 m. When you reach the road, turn left; go over the bridge and take the left-hand path to Les Grelodots. Continue as far as the crossroads and turn right to join the D2. Turn right and return to the town hall.
