Contrary to appearances, The Doug is not the name of a rock band from Liverpool, but the pseudonym of a twenty-something artist from Clermont-Ferrand who has chosen rap (and the acoustic guitar) to express himself.

After brilliantly supporting the likes of Eddy de Pretto and Gaëtan Roussel, the young prodigy will be setting down roots in Le Creusot to sing in French, with a voice reminiscent of Bashung (for the older crowd) or Lomepal (for the younger), about the scars and dreams of his generation. But while his cry is indeed that of a child of the century, The Doug is not averse to introspection and intimacy - as evidenced by two tracks in the form of moving tributes to his mother and his home town (how could it be otherwise when you're lucky enough to be born in the tyre capital?).
