Follow the small road up to the summit of Mont Beuvray for 20 m. It passes to the right of the restaurant "Le Chaudron" and follow the small path that climbs steeply to the left of the road. Pass the Barlots tomb.
Climb up to the Rebout Gate, the main entrance to the oppidum, cut into the "lower" rampart dating from the 1st century BC. Its reconstruction is reminiscent of the murus gallicus.
Cross the archaeological site by following the GR©13, without leaving it. Along the long road leading from the Rebout Gate, metal craftsmen's workshops have been excavated and then backfilled to ensure their preservation. As you walk along, you will come across queules, trees with twisted silhouettes that are the remains of woven hedges that enclosed pastures in centuries gone by.
300m further on, turn left towards Le Theurot de la Roche. This peak overlooking the town was probably once a place of worship. Pass through the residential area of Bibracte, where you will see the remains of domus, large Roman houses.
Go back up the small road and climb straight up to the Terrasse, from this esplanade culminating at 814m, the view is spectacular.
Then follow the PR "Le chemin de maraude", which passes the little chapel of Saint Martin and joins the GR©13 through the forest. Take the GR©13 to the left and go straight downhill for 3km until you reach a small road.
Turn left for a few metres, then right at the Montvernot mill. There is accommodation after 1 km. Continue on the GR©13 to Petiton. Cross the hamlet and stay on the GR©13 as far as Foudon.
Turn left onto a small road that becomes a track, then left again. Admire the pretty view from Les Boulats. Turn right onto a PR road towards Maquis Louis and follow it to the Maquis monument. Take the D192 road for 200m and join the GR©13 (nice view) which goes deep into the forest. You will pass close to Mont Touleur. Follow the path to Les Verne. Nice view.
Follow the GR to the village of Larochemillay. Lodging in a stopover gîte.

Nestling on the south-western flank of Mont Beuvray, Larochemillay dominates the Vallée de la Roche at an altitude of 399 m, under the protection of its eponymous castle. On the other side of the valley is Mont Touleur, with the ruins of a fortress at its summit.
Go through the village and descend to the east. Leave the GR at Machefer and turn left onto a pretty track heading towards Ettevaux.
Follow the small road to Les Banchots, following the PR (yellow). Turn right, then take the 2nd track on the left. Go around the Château de Villette, which dates from the 18th century and was rebuilt on the site of a 14th-century fortified house that no longer exists. Accommodation.
Continue along the PR (yellow) to the village of Poil. Accommodation. Cross the village to the left and continue along the PR, with a fine view of the 15th-century manor house of Le Mousseau.
Go up into Corcelles, then turn left and right. Join a small road at Le Petit Laume. Turn left, go down the track and pass the Cognières pond. Continue as far as the old Moulin du Gué and turn right twice. Turn left at La Roche Pendue and follow the orange horse trail.
At the Dessus du Jeu road, turn left, then left again at the Poisson pond. Follow the track to Molnet, cross the hamlet and continue on the PR to Saint Léger Sous Beuvray. Accommodation and shops.
After La Boutière, take a small road to the left, then immediately a track that climbs to the left as far as Le Rebout. Ferme du Rebout is 50m on the right. At Rebout, turn left on a PR path that climbs through the forest to the Bibracte museum (be careful of the road).
